Choosing your inn

Choosing a location for your inn is your first big decision and one that could can make or break your business.  We will guide you in this selection by asking pertinent questions relevant to the type of location you are considering.  For example, a city inn needs to consider factors such as safety and parking while a country inn needs to be near an attraction or outdoor activity area.

Once you have chosen a location, you must next find a suitable house.  It needs to be big enough to have enough guest rooms to be profitable, with space enough to construct private baths.  The days of shared bathrooms are over. Even adjacent private baths are harder to sell than en-suite baths.  Our consultants can help with these logistics and help determine cost effectiveness.

Historic properties are encouraged because of historic preservation tax credits and urban renewal. It can sometimes present a challenge to provide modern comforts and amenities while keeping the historic value.

We have the experience to help with the processes and procedures involved in turning a property into a bed and breakfast or small inn including zoning, historic district commissions, and site plan evaluations, construction/refurbishing and interior design.

The QR franchise takes the fear and uncertainty out of the process by offering support and guidance through every phase.
